Now halfway through our second decade, the Bowen Basin Mining Club continues to connect and champion the resources sector across Queensland. From contractors and C-suite executives to the diverse businesses that power our industry, we’ve built a community of more than 5,000 people that networks, advocates, and thrives together.

Through strategic networking, targeted advocacy, and genuine industry collaboration, we’ve become more than networking luncheons. Through focused representation, added communication channels, and championing innovation, we foster growth and opportunity in mining communities.

We introduced the bi-annual Queensland Mining Awards in 2014, published the first industry Yearbook in 2018 and have done so every year since, and established the BBMC Crib Room Podcast in 2020. Now in its fifth year, the podcast boasts a large, regular audience and has hosted industry luminaries and personalities, from politicians to seasoned CEOs and upcoming entrepreneurs, to inform and entertain its listeners.

We continue to advocate for Bowen Basin businesses to mining producers’ metropolitan headquarters, governments, and industry lobby groups.

In May 2025, we expanded our activities into NSW, launching the Hunter Mining Club to establish a communication pipeline for the Hunter Valley mining industry. Both Clubs are represented at state and national mining sector forums, conferences, and metropolitan events. Director Jodie Currie is frequently nominated to host or participate in industry panels at events.
